Coheed and Cambria & Mastodon team up for the heaviest spring tour in America
In 1995 Coheed and Cambria burst out of their hometown of Nyack, New York with a bold conceptual vision that would meld their pop and post-hardcore-tinged progressive rock with frontman Claudio Sanchez's illustrations and imaginative sci-fi comic book/graphic novel universe called the Armory Wars. Presenting one of the more eclectic of line-ups this spring, they're joining forces with American heavy metal icons Mastodon to bring The Unheavenly Skye Tour to the stage, where they'll be playing Mastodon's 2009 album Crack The Skye and Coheed's 2018 album Unheavenly Creatures, with support from Every Time I Die.
Formed in Atlanta in the year 2000, Mastodon quickly rose to become one of the most critically lauded metal acts of the new millennium thanks to their heady blend of progressive, hardcore, heavy and grindcore metal, thought provoking lyrics, melodic singing and zig zagging riffs. Rumour has it, they'll be dropping a new album in 2020, the follow up to 2017's Emperor Of Sand.
