Paul Simon at Merriweather Post Pavillion

Why see Paul Simon?

Homeward Bound - The Farewell Tour

One of modern music's true founding fathers, Simon found worldwide fame in the 1960s as one half of the folk duo Simon and Garfunkel. While his relationship with bandmate Art Garfunkel produced classic after classic, from 'The Sound of Silence' to 'Bridge over Troubled Water', it was also famously fraught, and it was only a matter of time before they went their separate ways. Simon's solo career presented him with a second wind in the 1980s when he became the de facto figurehead of the World music movement, collaborating with a host of African musicians on his iconic album Graceland.

Having announced his retirement from touring in February 2018, catch Simon as he heads on his final dates on the road as part of his Homeward Bound tour. Sure to include some of his finest solo work including Graceland and Still Crazy After All These Years alongside deep cuts and hits from the Simon and Garfunkel years, this opportunity is a true treat for fans and the perfect way to bid him farewell as he moves onto to pastures new!

Incredible

One of the best concerts I’ve ever attended. Paul was an expert showman, and so energetic. His band was tight and his voice smooth. Came out for two encores. Great variety . Seriously could not get enough. If you have a chance to attend, don’t pass it up! ... Read more

Hard to believe!

If you have doubts about Paul Simon's ability to crank out a high energy, amazingly fresh, and superiorly orchestrated show at his over 70 years, put those doubts aside and BUY THE TICKETS! Saw the show last night at the Greensboro Colesium. Phenomenal! The band was versatile and easily went from West African rhythms to zydeco, to exquisite chamber ensemble, to dixieland, avante garde, to American classic rock and rock and roll ala Paul Simon at his finest! ... Thank you Paul!! A concert to remember.

We knew going into the concert that we would not be able to hear all of his greatest songs, just hoping to hear as many songs from Bridge Over Troubled Waters and secretly hoping for specific songs like Frank Lloyd Wright, Cecilia, I am a Rock among others while knowing that I would hear The Sounds of Silence, Graceland and The Boxer. The musicians were tight and right on beat, always watching the expert directions to further enhance the music. My only regret is that it took over 53 years to see and hear the talent of Paul Simon. I figure that if your biggest regret about going to a concert is/was that you wish it could be longer or see them perform again and again then you have nothing to complain about, only praise to be given to the talent, the skills, the humanity and all around good people/ person. Thank you again, Paul for an unforgetable evening! ... Read more
